Deputy Chief keeps his fans happy

On a recent trip to Toronto, Sandy Lake’s Bart Meekis was mobbed by a group of ladies for his autograph and photo. And it wasn’t because of his Deputy Chief status.

The Carlos Santana look-a-like was in the Toronto airport in January when he passed by a group of Hispanic ladies who mistook him for the celebrity.

“They didn’t believe me when I told them I wasn’t Carlos Santana”, said Bart with his trademark jet-black curly hair, tinted sunglasses and hat.

Despite his attempts to clarify the case of mistaken identity, Bart finally gave in to the overjoyed women, signing four autographs and posing for a group picture.

“What convinced them I was Carlos Santana was they felt my fingertips”, said Bart who plays the guitar, giving him the calloused fingertips that convinced his fans that he was indeed Carlos Santana.

This isn’t the first time Bart has been mistaken for Carlos Santana.  A pilot on a flight Bart was on years ago also asked for his autograph.
