Derek Miller confirmed to perform at music festival
Organizers of the Muddy Water Music Festival have confirmed Juno Award winner Derek Miller as the headlining act for this year's festival.
Miller is a guitarist and singer-songwriter from Six Nations with a flare for blues-rock music, winning several music awards for his original work.
Other musicians scheduled to perform are:
Aaron Peters and Brownjovi, a rock band from Manitoba
Rodney Brown, a children's entertainer from Thunder Bay
The annual music festival will also feature local performers from Sandy Lake and neighboring communities.
The event was started 26 years ago in 1983 by a small group of local musicians who enjoyed the freedom of jamming together in an outside environment. This small group of performers still jam together today and believe in sharing the stage with younger generations, some of whom are their own children and grandchildren, as they pass on the gift of music.
Advance tickets for the music festival, which is scheduled for July 29 - August 2, will be available soon. More musicians will be announced.
