Sandy Lake band member wants cure for cancer

Steve Feeney lost his mother to cancer on April 3, 2006.  Now, he is dedicated to help in any way he can to finding a cure to what he calls "a terrible disease".

On June 5th, Steve will participate in the Relay for Life in Sioux Lookout.  For twelve hours during the night, Steve will walk laps around the track with his team at the high school in Sioux Lookout.  The annual Canadian Cancer Society fundraising event will also include a candle-light vigil in honor of those who have been affected by cancer.

In a memo to Sandy Lake First Nation, Steve (who lives in Sioux Lookout with his father and brother), said he is doing this for his mom and for all those affected by cancer.

If you wish to support Steve in the Relay for Life, donations may be forwarded to Sandra Rae in Sandy Lake.
