Earth Day in Sandy Lake

On May 26th, Sandy Lake celebrated Earth Day with a community-wide clean up.  It is an annual event that has all employees of Sandy Lake First Nation outside cleaning up the garbage that has accumulated over the year.

Students and teachers from the elementary and high schools pitched in and community members also took the time to clean up their own yards.

The size difference in skates didn’t deter Rocco from participating in the first day of a hockey camp that was held after Sandy Lake First Nation extended an invitation to the Sioux Warriors.
